PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a control system for a picture recording and display device which can securely record a broadcasting program on video tape or display it. SOLUTION: This control system 10 controls the picture recording operation or display operation of the picture recording and display device 22 which records a broadcasting program on video tape or display it. It is equipped with an operation reservation acceptance part 30 which accepts reservations for picture recording operation or display operation for recording a specific broadcasting program on video tape or displaying it, a broadcast schedule confirmation part 32 which confirms whether or not the broadcasting schedule for the specific broadcasting program has been changed a specific time before the broadcasting start scheduled time of the specific broadcasting program as an object of the operation reservation accepted by the operation reservation acceptance part 30, and an operation reservation correction part 34 which corrects the contents of the operation reservation according to the changed broadcasting schedule when the confirmation part 32 confirms that the broadcasting schedule has been changed.
