PURPOSE: A rotary vane type vacuum pump is provided to increase the amount of fluid discharge by maintaining rotation speed of the vane constant, and prevent chattering by connecting the vane to the rotator in a stable manner. CONSTITUTION: A vane guide which is hexahedron and has a hollow portion formed in a lengthwise direction of the vane guide, is inserted into a rotor(4) having a slot formed in a lengthwise direction of the rotor. The vane guide inserted into the slot of the rotor, is protruded in the diameter direction of the rotor in such a manner that minimum 40 percents from a top dead center(12) of the rotor and vanes(6a,6b) are maintained. That is, the vane guide is protruded in the diameter direction of the rotor, in such a manner that the contact ratio between the vane and the rotor becomes 40 percents minimum. Plate-shaped vanes are inserted, from top and bottom of the vane guide, into the hollow portion of the vane guide. Thus-assembled rotor, vane guide and vane is installed in a housing(1) of a vacuum pump in an eccentric manner.
