PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a head mound type video display device which is small in size and good in mountability. SOLUTION: This head mount type video display device 1 for single eye observation has an LCD 13, a main prism 32 which introduces the video displayed the LCD 13 so as to be made observable by either the left of right eye, a see-through prism 33 which is bonded to the main prism 32 and transmits and introduces external light to the eye, a frame 10 which supports the LCD 13 so as to exist in prescribed position with respect to the prisms 32 and 33, a microphone 18 which is mounted at the frame 10 and an attachable and detachable elastic member 38 having a nose pad part 38 to support a viewer part 2 including the members described above in such a manner that the viewer part is disposed in the prescribed position in front of the user's eye. The video display device described above is mountable by inverting right and left positions.
