PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a capacitance type sensor, having a stable output directionality which is independent of individual operation difference. SOLUTION: This sensor comprises a plurality of fixed electrodes Dx+, Dx-, Dy+, Dy-, which are formed on a substrate 1, an electrical conductive elastomer, and movable electrode plates 20x+, 20x-, 20y+, 20y- which are placed opposite to each fixed electrodes Dx+, Dx-, Dy+, Dy-. Variable capacitance parts Cx+, Cx-, Cy+, Cy-, where each of them is constructed independently by the opposite fixed electrodes and movable electrode plates are formed so that they do not mutually interfere, due to individual independent structure of a plurality of variable capacitance parts Cx+, Cx-, Cy+, Cy-. Thereby, the capacitances of the variable capacitance parts are designed so as to be varied with force strength exerted to the movable electrode plates 20x+, 20x-, 20y+, 20y-.
