The invention relates to a device for cooling an electrical appliance, comprising interacting thermal zones, each thermal zone having a heat source and a temperature sensor and comprising at least one cooling element, whereby a regulating element, connected to the temperature sensor is allocated to each thermal zone for controlling the cooling element(s). The cooling device is characterised in that the outputs of several regulating elements can be connected to the cooling element(s). In the inventive cooling device, several regulating elements can influence one or more cooling elements, whereby the cooling elements can be supported or completely replaced by other existing cooling elements.
