PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the electric motor operation of a generator by reliably detecting an reverse power state even if the generator is being operated with a large reactive power. SOLUTION: A generator reverse power relay device is provided with a first detection element where a straight line where an effective power is a machine side request inverse power setting value 10 and a straight line for connecting an intersection at the delay reactive power side of a current transformer secondary rated circle 12 and a zero point are set as an operation boundary 1 on a plane which the effective power of a generator is a first axis P and the reactive power of the generator is a second axis Q, and a second detection element where a straight line which the effective power is the machine side request reverse power setting value 10 and a straight line for connecting an intersection at the lead reactive power side of the current transformer secondary rated circle 12 and a zero point are set as an operation boundary 2 and the effective power operates at the negative side as compared with the boundary 2, thus making operation with the AND condition of the two detection elements.
