PURPOSE: A panel and shadow mask for color cathode ray tube of new structure is provided to improve visual elegance greatly comparing to color cathode ray tube having the existed panel structure by forming radius of curvature of central part nearly same as radius of curvature of border surface of effective screen. CONSTITUTION: A radius of curvature of Rx is nearly same as one of R'x, when Rx is radius of curvature of external surface formed along with x axis, R'x is radius of curvature of external surface formed parallel to x axis at border surface of effective screen(4), and a radius of curvature of Ry is nearly same as one of R'y, when Ry is radius of curvature of external surface formed along with x axis, R'y is radius of curvature of external surface formed parallel to x axis at border surface of effective screen(4) in panel(2) for color cathode ray tube. The relation with radius of curvature of R'x against Rx and R'y against Ry is that Rx is equal to and more than R'x and is equal to and more than 1.1R'x, Ry is equal to and more than R'y and is equal to and more than 1.1R'y.
