PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent photographing from being performed just as the state that a lens barrel is inadequately extended by constituting a camera to perform a warning when the extending position of the lens barrel is deviated. SOLUTION: This camera is provided with a means warning the effect when the lens barrel is driven in an extending condition and the lens barrel which is expected to be in the extending condition, is deviated from the extending condition. For example, a visual field frame 207a, a close distance photographing mark 207b and a long distance photographing mark 207c are displayed on an LCD 207 inside a finder of this camera. In this case, for example, when the lens barrel is extended while a close distance photographing position is regarded as a target position, the close distance mark 207b is displayed. In this case, a (x) mark is superposed on the mark 207b being the target position and displayed when a shutter button is pressed to perform a release processing routine, a present barrel position is obtained and as the result, the obtained barrel position is deviated from the target position.
