<p>The air spring assembly is mounted between two surfaces, and comprises a flexible sleeve (12) and a movable hollow cylindrical piston (14), coaxially aligned about a common axis (22), connected by bead (32) and channel (42) fixing at respective ends to provide an air tight seal between the two parts which are closed at opposing ends by sealed end plates (16,18). The hollow piston which moves axially inside the flexible sleeve, according to pressure applied, provides an increased air reservoir capacity, dependant upon pressure applied. Annular tensile rings (29,33) located in the bead fixings allows the air spring to withstand tensile stresses during operation and eliminates the need to have a snap-on component to make a connection between the two parts.</p> |
