The invention relates to a dry-compressing screw pump, embodied in the form of a two-shaft positive-displacement pump, having a first (1) and a second rotor spindle (2) disposed parallel to each other and forming a rotor spindle pair that is disposed in a closed compression chamber (3) having an inlet and an outlet, the rotor spindles (1, 2) being hollow. A cooling medium is fed to a first front face (11, 21) of the rotor spindles (1, 2) and evacuated in a second front face (12, 22). The cooling medium feeding and evacuation means are connected to an external cooling medium circuit. The inner surfaces of the hollow rotor spindles are embodied in such a way that the cooling medium is conveyed from the first front face (11, 21) to the second front face (12, 22) substantially under the influence of rotation of the corresponding rotor spindle.
