PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance bonding strength by brazing a baffle plate arranged in a tubular body in order to enhance heat exchanging efficiency rigidly to the body. SOLUTION: A cooler element comprises a tubular body, end plates closing the opposite ends of the body, four heat exchanging tubes having the opposite ends coupled with respective end plates, and a baffle plate 8 arrange in the body to constitute a U-turn cooling water channel, all of which are previously integrated by brazing. The baffle plate 8 has fixing pieces 8a at the opposite side edges thereof being brazed to the inner wall face of the body wherein a plurality of shallow recesses 21 are made in the contact face of the fixing piece 8a and coated with a brazing material. The recesses 21 prevent falling of the brazing material at the time of inserting the baffle plate 8 into the body. Heated brazing material flows out to the periphery of the recess 21 where it is brazed rigidly. |
