PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent displacements in the impact positions of ink droplets due to droplet size modulation and to record a quality image. SOLUTION: Eight kinds of driving waveforms are prepared for a controller 11 that controls a recording head 15, and a switching circuit 14 switches among the driving waveforms. The width of pulses generated by a waveform generating circuit 12 modulates the size of ink droplets as the reference of droplet size modulation, the amplitude of pulses modulates discharge speed as the reference of the droplet speed modulation and changes discharge speed in accordance with the size of ink droplets. Thus it becomes possible to reduce an error in the ink droplet impact position and to obtain high quality image recording. The travel speed of the recording head 15 can be increased, allowing high-speed recording. Even if the flight distance of ink droplets is large, an occurrence of displacement in the impact position can be reduced, it is possible to increase the distance between the recording head and recording paper. |
