An apparatus for measuring ground explosion altitude and its method are provided that safely and accurately measure a ground explosion altitude. The apparatus includes a calculator(10) for calculating a position coordinate of a camera, a far point and a reference point by surveying; an image producing unit(20) for producing an image signal of a single screen for the far point, reference point and an explosion point by using two remote control video camera having a recorder, zoom lens and view finder, a signal converter(30) for converting the output signal from the image producing unit to a digital image signal, an image signal analyzer(40) for classifying the far point, reference point and explosion from the output signal of the signal converter and obtaining a data required for operation of an explosion altitude by converting each inputted point to an image coordinate value, an explosion altitude operator(50) for operating and detecting an explosion altitude from the output signal of the image signal analyzer, and an outputting unit(60) for printing the explosion altitude detected from the explosion altitude operator by a printer.
