PURPOSE:To determine a key automatically according to chord play by determining the key according to different specific conditions corresponding to the kind of specified rhythm by using chord information stored in a chord information storage means. CONSTITUTION:When a chord is specified by a keyboard 10, information representing the specified chord is stored in the chord information storage means. Then a key determining means determines the key under different specific conditions corresponding to the kind of the specified rhythm according to the chord information stored in the chord information storage means. Therefore, the key is determined under the different conditions according to the selected kind of rhythm. In such a case, the key determining means determines the key according to the presence of the specific chord advance predetermined for each key by a 1st determining means when, for example, certain rhythm is selected or according to the appearance of the predetermined specific chord for each key by a 2nd determining means when other rhythm is selected. |
