PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To correct power error variation due to temperature variation without performing any electric process by forming a mirror, which bends deflected luminous flux between a deflector and a scanned surface, of a material which has a larger coefficient of linear expansion than that of a fitting member. SOLUTION: The diverged luminous flux emitted by a light source 1 is converted by a collimator lens 2 into a desired luminous flux which is one of parallel luminous flux, diverged luminous flux, and converged luminous flux, and the luminous flux is deflected equal-angular-speed-like by a polygon mirror 3. This luminous flux deflected by the polygon mirror 3 is converged by an fθlens 4 on a photoreceptor drum to a spot diameter and sent back by a return mirror 5' to scan the surface to be scanned (photoreceptor) 6 at an equal speed. In this case, the return mirror 5' is held by a proper fitting member 10 and fixed at a specific position on an optical scanning device main body, but the return mirror 5' is formed out of a material having the larger coefficient of linear expansion than that of the fitting member 10.
