PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To greatly reduce the phosphate content in waste liquids and lower the pH of these waste liquids down to a level permissible for discarding the liquids in a treatment method for treating the waste liquids from the photographic development processing including the waste developer, waste bleaching soln. and waste fixing soln. SOLUTION: In the treatment method for treating the waste liquids from the photographic development processing and more particularly the redox amplification(RX) development processing which is operated by alkaline pH and is buffered by a phosphate buffer soln., group II or group III metal cations forming the phosphate insoluble in water or substantially insoluble in water are added to the waste liquids, by which the phosphate is precipitated from the waste liquids and the pH of the waste liquid is lowered. |
