CONSTITUTION: An image memory 1 stores a received image in its area of 256×256 picture elements. A processing area setting means 2 sets a processing area to specify a gate width to revise a visual axis through the operation of a joy stick. A central position calculation means 3 calculates a center position of an object based on a processing area center in the unit of 3×32 picture elements. A size calculation means 4 calculates a distance between the processing area center and a surrounding of the object as a size of the object. A visual axis revision drive command generating means 5 provides an output of a drive command to revise the visual axis of an image pickup device in order to make the object center in matching with the processing area center to a visual axis revision means 7. In this case, a drive limit means 6 limits the magnitude of the drive command signal by referencing the size of the object and the gate width.
