<p>A method of breaking up deposits laid down in a heating apparatus by combustion of bitumen-based emulsion fuels, comprises the introduction to said heating apparatus during an operational phase thereof a composition containing at least potassium nitrate, preferably with ammonium nitrate, and optionally a pH stabiliser, in an aqueous vehicle, by spraying said material or composition directly into the heating apparatus via atomising nozzles.</p> |
