<p>PURPOSE:To easily know why a user can not reproduce a picture by generating encoded data by predictively encoding picture data and outputting predictive- structure class information as well as the encoded data. CONSTITUTION:A predictive-structure class signal discriminating device 54 detects a predictive-structure class signal to be superimposed on the header of a bit stream to be inputted through a terminal 40, discriminating whether or not picture data can be reproduced from the inputted bit stream based on the signal. In short, it discriminates whether or not a picture decoding device can decode the predictive-structure more than the predictive-structure class of the bit stream, outputting the discrimination result as a signal S30. Further, a light emitting diode 56 is lit by the signal S30, notifying the user of it. As the result, the user can easily know why the picture can not be reproduced and the convenience can be improved.</p> |
