<p>A hair pin (20) is provided that maintains its position in the hair for an extended period of time. The hair style tool (10) is preferably used in connection with an inverted ponytail hairstyle. The multiple-prong hair pin (20) includes at least one front prong (23) and preferably two rear prongs (21, 22). At least one prong includes two locking tabs (33, 34). The elastic band (35) used to create the ponytail is securably engaged between the front and rear prongs (21, 22, 23) and between the upper and lower locking tabs (33, 34) thereby precluding vertical movement of the hair pin (20) during use.</p> |
