The method for mfg. a shadow mask is characterized by (a) mixing a bismuth oxide (Bi2O3) and at least one selected from CuO, B2O3, Li2O, Fe2O3, ZnO and Rb2O at a mol. ratio of 9:1, (b) firing the mixture at about 550 deg.C for 1 hr. to obtain a solidified body, (c) putting the body in the heating element boat (4), (d) heating the heating element boat to deposite the body on the shadow mask in vacuum chamber, and (e) heating the deposited film at 400- 450 deg.C for 3 hr. to blacken it.
