Grinding machine for plates - uses flexible grinding belts engaging support rings on bottom of plates

The machine is used for grinding the support rims (32) of plates (2) or similar ceramic objects. The plate is rotated by a grip (4) and is pressed against a table (12) over which an abrasive belt (30) runs. This belt is released in steps from at least one reel (24,26). The surface of the table over which the belt moves has concentric sections of grooves (34) into which the rims (32) are partly pressed. USE/ADVANTAGE - Grinding support rims of ceramic plates. The sides of the support rims are also machined.
