PURPOSE:To improve the activity of the subject magnetite by keeping a magnetite raw material at a specific temperature, applying high voltage to supply electron and expelling O2 molecule by the electron to effect the activation of magnetite. CONSTITUTION:A chamber 2 is evacuated by closing shut-off valves 5, 6 and is maintained at about 250-350 deg.C by heating the outer circumference of the chamber 2 with a heater 1. A high voltage is applied from the side of a magnetite 3a used as a cathode terminal in the chamber 2 to a magnetite 3b used as a reaction raw material with a high-potential generator 9 to forcedly include electrons into the magnetite 3b. As a result, the magnetite 3b is activated by releasing O2 to form an O2-deficient magnetite (Fe3O4-x). Thereafter, the operation of a vacuum pump 4 is stopped, the shut-off valve 5 is opened to introduce CO2, etc., into the chamber 2 and the gas is made to react with the O2-deficient magnetite. The formed C is adsorbed to the surface of the magnetite to easily decompose the CO2. |
