PURPOSE:To form a power circuit without a transformer, wherein the AC side is insulated from the DC side, by a constitution wherein the AC side is insulated from the DC side and a charge from an AC power source is transferred to the DC side by switching a capacitor alternately between the two sides. CONSTITUTION:When an input AC voltage shifts to a positive half cycle, thyristors Th7 and Th8 are turned ON, a charge accumulated in a capacitor C2 is discharged and transferred to a capacitor C3 via a resistor R. After a prescribed time passes from the starting point of this positive half cycle, thyristors Th1 and Th2 are turned ON and thereby a capacitor C1 is charged. When this charging is ended, the thyristors Th1 and Th2 are turned OFF. When the input AC voltage shifts to a negative half cycle, thyristors Th5 and Th6 are turned ON and thereby a charge accumulated in the capacitor C1 is transferred to the capacitor C3. Operations as described above are repeated for each cycle of the input AC voltage, and thereby a DC voltage is supplied from the capacitor C3 to a load 30. |
