PURPOSE: To attain a wide band integrated service nework capable of switching information independently of the sorts of service by reproducing the shape of an electrically switched matrix by an optically switched matrix. CONSTITUTION: An wavelength demultiplexer WD separates a signal packet from an information packet. A signal packet on a line 5 is converted into an electric signal by an opto-electric converter COE 1 and the electric signal is sent to a signal processor in an electric control part EC. An information packet on a line 2 is divided into a line 3 connected to an optical switching device OS and a line 4 connected to an information packet header processor by a beam splitter SEP. A processor PER executes the processing of an information packet header necessary for packet switching on a node based on information supplied from a CEL through a connection line 12 and controls the setting of an MOT by using an electrically switched matrix MEL which is the same as that of the MOT about topology.
