PURPOSE:To adjust the vertical interval of dot lines to be printed and thereby obtain a high-quality image without causing any adverse effects upon a dot interval in a scan direction by changing the interval between the tips of ink discharge nozzles arranged in a nonparallel discharge direction and the surface of recording paper. CONSTITUTION:Two glass ink discharge nozzles 1, 1', 40mm long, for instance, which are provided so that the rear end section of these nozzles 1, 1' protrudes into a subtank, are supported vertically by any appropriate supporting table 14 in a non-parallel manner. Fixing screws 12 are loosened and a mounting board 15 is moved by 0.5mm on a carriage 11 to the direction of recording paper 7, utilizing an adjustment slot 13. In this way, the gap between the tips of the ink discharge nozzles 1, 1' and the surface of the recording paper 7 is adjusted to 0.6mm, and again the fixing screw 12 is tightened to finalize the arrangement of the ink discharge nozzles. Thus it is possible to obtain an image with dot lines at an interval of 159mum and without any white streak and also maintain the circularness of dots which is essential to printing. |
