PURPOSE:To increase the number of cutting edges by arranges a high hardness sintered substance with the same dia. as the cutting edge through jointing of the supporting mother material consolidated at the back with the body, providing a cutting edge, and securing bond strength between the tool supporting mother material and the body even for a tool with minor dia. CONSTITUTION:An extra-hard alloy or steel supporting mother material 2 jointed with a sintered member 1 at the time of manufacture is installed in such an arrangement that the bond interface 5 is perpendicular to the axis of the tool and the back of the supporting mother material 2 is jointed with the joint part 4 at the front of the tool body 3. The sintered member 1 is provided with main cutting edges 6 stretching radially, peripheral cutting edges 7 partially formed also on the mother material 2, and splash pockets 8 installed alongside the cutting edges, wherein each splash pocket 8 is given a length not attaining the joint part 4 so that a greater joint area is secured for the joint part 4. The sintered member 1 is provided with a dent in the front center to eliminate main cutting edges in the center hard to secure enough strength, wherein the sintered member is of diamond sintering containing 50-95% by volume or boron nitride sintering of cubic crystals containing 20-90% by volume to be selected according to the field of application.
