PURPOSE:To obtain superior color reproducibility comparable with high-quality prints by coating a pigment with a polyester resin higher in molecular weight, and then, dispersing the coated pigment into another polyester resin lower in molecular weight. CONSTITUTION:After the pigment has been surface treated with the polyester resin (A), it is diluted with the polyester resin (B) lower in molecular weight than (A) to obtain the toner. As the colorant, a pigment belonging to C.I. Pigment Red 57:1, C.I. Pigment Blue 15:3, or C.I. Pigment Yellow 12 is used, this pigment is added to the toner diluted with the polyester (B), preferably, in an amount of 1-20wt%, thus permitting a developer to be enhanced in stability at the time of repeated uses, and extremely good color reproducibility to be obtained. |
