PURPOSE:To obtain a miniaturized air cleaner with less flow resistance by bonding both terminal ends of folded filter paper having a cone-shaped fold at one side of every other fold to form an annular filter body. CONSTITUTION:Rectangular sheet filter paper 31 is folded, and both terminal ends are bonded to form an annular filter body 32, and annular seal bodies 35 and 30 are provided to the upper inner peripheral edge 33 and the lower outer peripheral edge 34 to form the filter element 20. Accordingly, when the filter element 20 is mounted in a casing and used, the intake air flows into the filter element, and then flows to the outlet without any drastic change of direction. As a result, the flow resistance is reduced. In addition, since the intake air flows out not only from the inside of the filter element 20 but also from the lower end, the outlet are is increased, and the flow resistance is reduced.
