PURPOSE:To prevent engine stall by making ignition timing a lag angle rather than the range in which engine speed exceeds the fixed one in the range in which engine speed is less than the fixed one of flow engine speed side in the time of low engine speed. CONSTITUTION:A control circuit 20 controls ignition timing in the basic advance angle determined according to the engine speed requested from the signal of crank angle sensors 16 and 18 when an idle switch 12 turns on, and the fixed advance angle is made when engine speed lowers from the target in the range in which engine speed exceeds the fixed one of low engine speed side. On the other hand, engine speed is controlled with a basic ignition advance angle when lowering from the target engine speed in the range in which engine seed is less than the fixed one. Accordingly, a lag angle is made rather than the range in which engine speed exceeds the fixed one in the range in which engine speed is less than the fixed one of low engine speed side, and ignition is performed at the almost top dead point. Therefore, engine stall according to an over- advance angle can be prevented in the time of low engine speed.
