摘要 PURPOSE:To enhance the performance of an engine in a new car, by compensating a predetermined spark advance in a new car condition when the temperature of engine cooling water is below a predetermined temperature and the rotational speed of the engine is below a predetermined rotational speed, and by increasing the spark advance compensating value to a larger value when the intake vacuum exceeds a predetermined negative pressure. CONSTITUTION:An odometer switch 1a, an hourmeter switch 1b, a brake pad switch 1c or the like detects a new car condition in which the fitness of the engine is insufficient and is during run-in operation. For example, when the odometer switch 1a is used, the switch is held to be turned on until a predetermined run-in operation travel distance (for example 1,000km) is attained, and therefore, and judges such a new car condition that the run-in operation is insufficient so that the engine has a large friction force and the accumulation of deposit is small so that the compression ratio is low. Further, the ignition timing is compensated toward the spark advance side in accordance with the engine conditions such as the temperature of cooling water, the rotational speed of the engine and the like. In this case, if the intake vacuum pressure exceeds a predetermined negative pressure, it is possible to set the spark advance run-in value to be larger.
