1312166 Jib cranes mounted on vehicles W HILDEBRANDT 12 Aug 1971 [13 Aug 1970] 37974/71 Headings B8B and B8E A vehicle loading and unloading crane comprises an inner jib arm 10 mounted on a first slewing bearing 9 carried on an extensible column 7. An outer jib arm 10<SP>1</SP> is mounted on a second slewing bearing 11 carried on the free end of the inner jib arm 10. A load crab 12 is supported on and can travel along the outer jib arm 10<SP>1</SP>. The column 7 is mounted on a bridge 6 carried by rollers 41 running in rails 3 on the vehicle chassis 1. Friction wheels 5 engage the load-carrying surface 2 of the vehicle and are driven to move the crane along the vehicle. This movement, combined with the two, independent, slewing actions provided by the bearings 9, 11 enable all parts of the surface 2 to be served by the crane. |
