WATER COOLED COIL

摘要

PURPOSE:To relieve a stress concentration caused by a large electromagnetic force produced in a water cooled coil of a hibrid magnet system by a method wherein a plurality of helical coil layers are arranged coaxially and concentrically and the plate thickness of each layer to the side of a cylinder supporting both ends is varied. CONSTITUTION:The plate thickness to the side of cylinder supporting both ends at a jointing part 6 is varied to distribute the stress concentrated to the neighborhood of an end 61 of the jointing part over the whole jointing part 6 and the maximum stress near the end of the jointing part 61 is reduced and the stress is prevented from exceeding the allowable valve. A shaded part 7 in the figure shows the jointing part of a oil conductor 11 and the cylinder 12 supporting both ends.
