PURPOSE:To obtain an antiseptic agent which can be preserved for a long term due to the sterilizing effect, etc. by coating granular activated coral sand free from salt with 1-15wt% silver to obtain the antiseptic agent which is enclosed in a packing vessel such as a paper bag. CONSTITUTION:An antiseptic agent 2, as it is or after being enclosed in a bag 1 consisting of paper, synthetic paper, etc., is put into a lidded plastic case 4 provided with many small holes 3. The antiseptic agent 2 is manufactured by preparing coral sand having 10-50 meshes particle size from reef-making coral, washing sufficiently, activating by heating at 200-400 deg.C under an inert gas atmosphere which is regulated to -20--50mm.Hg reduced pressure, decomposing the organic constituents, and developing pores. Then the coral sand is impregnated in an aq. soln. of silver ammonia at 20-40 deg.C under reduced pressure, and added with grape sugar as a reducing agent to coat the surface or the internal surface of the coral sand with metallic silver.
