The further processing of continuously cast steel strands using the thin-strand technique requires new apparatuses or apparatuses associated in new ways. These prerequisites are provided in a continuous casting plant with a coiling apparatus arranged downstream of the continuous casting mould, the curved supporting roller stand and the withdrawal machine by virtue of the fact that the strands (1) run in an arc from the continuous casting mould (6) to the coiling apparatus (15) and that a cross-cutting apparatus (19), likewise arranged on the arc, is positioned ahead of the coiling apparatus (15).
