PURPOSE:To make a head lamp driving unit compact and light as the whole by rotating a head lamp from its stowage position to illuminating position by using as driving force the force of either a shape-memorizing-alloy coil spring or an ordinary coil spring. CONSTITUTION:No.2 coil spring 18 is formed by using a shape-memorizing-alloy spring which enables that the spring force of No.2 coil spring is smaller than that of No.1 coil spring 17 at the temperature lower than the prespecified temperature but it becomes greater than that of No.1 coil spring 17 when the temperature becomes higher than the prespecified temperature. When No.2 coil spring 18 is electrified and heated while a head lamp 3 is in the stowage position, the spring force of the spring 18 becomes greater to compress No.1 coil spring 17, and a slider 11 slides on a guide shaft 9, thereby also making a rack 12 travel. Movement of the rack 12 rotates No.1 and No.2 pinions 13 and 16. Thus, a sector-gear 2 rotates a rotating shaft 1 in the direction of arrow mark ''a'' so that the head lamp 3 moves up from the stowage position to the illuminating position. |
