PURPOSE:To obtain a thermal printer having a function that the results of judging the presence or absence of underline are stored according to data on input letters and versatile underline information for composing data on letter patterns and data on underline is directly input. CONSTITUTION:Letter information and underline information for one line, input in an input buffer 4, are processed, and the letter information is stored as letter data in data buffer 31 of RAM3 and the discriminative pronunciation note buffer of a data qualifying buffer 32. On the basis of the underline information, the presence or absence of underline is judged, and the results are stored as underline data in the underline buffer of the data qualifying buffer 32 of RAM3. The underline data and letter pattern data sent out of a shift register 17 are composed in OR circuit 18 and put in a thermal head DI terminal and the underline is printed. |
