PURPOSE:To speedily process a trouble, by counting a number of turn-on times of a display lamp and easily checking a diagnostic result, when a checker as an external device is not connected to a control unit built in with a trouble diagnostic device. CONSTITUTION:A self diagnostic device 12, generating an output by discriminating a trouble corresponding to each sensor from a detecting signal of various sensors and prescribed diagnostic reference, is provided to a control unit 10, and data of the trouble are set to a prescribed address determined in accordance with each trouble location of an ROM14. While a selector circuit 30, detecting existence of a checker 24 connected as an external device and switching a data transfer speed, is provided to the unit 10, when the checker 24 is not connected, the speed is switched to a prescribed transfer speed visible with flickering of light emitting diode 46 as a trouble display means. A content of the flickering of said light emitting diode 46 is checked, and where a trouble to be caused can be decided. |
