PURPOSE:To enhance the return efficiency of the developer by dislocating the developer recovered in cleaning device to a latent image carrying body when not in recording cycle, and further dislocating the same to a developing device and reusing the same for development. CONSTITUTION:When the amount of the developer 10 in a toner recovery vessel 15 increases and a toner amount detector 17 detects its state, the transfer of the developer 10 to a photosensitive drum 2 is made from a cleaning device 9 at the timing when no copying cycle is made. From this drum 2, the developer 10 is transferred to a developing device 7, whereby the return of the developer 10 is accomplished. To transfer the developer 10 from the cleaning device 9 to the drum 2, it is equally well to make charging of the drum 2 in a transfer part 8 or to apply bias potential to a magnet brush 12. The transfer from the drum 2 to the developing device 7 is accomplished by applying the bias potential of the reverse characteristics from those of the cleaning device 9. |
