PURPOSE:To rapidly mesh a backward speed shift gear when shifted to the R position and prevent an engine from being raced, by equipping a low cost shift valve for performing the rapid feed of pressure oil to a reverse brake. CONSTITUTION:When a manual selector valve is placed in a shift of the N position, a modulator pressure is not caused in an oil line 75, and a low cost shift valve body 82 is in an upper portion. When shifted to the R position, the valve body 82 is urged downward at one point of time, and a line pressure is fed to oil chambers (b) and (c) through oil lines 49, 92 to cuase the valve body 82 to be rapidly urged upward, then the oil line 49 is communicated in a short length of time to an oil hydraulic servo 64 of a backward speed shift brake, thus to promptly obtain an engagement of the brake finally complete the shift work N-R. |
