<p>BLASTING CARTRIDGE A blasting cartridge consisting of a tubular film package of thickened aqueous suspension explosive gathered and fastened at both ends, has a protective covering which is crimped inwardly at both ends so as to reverse the direction of taper of the gathered and fastened ends and cause the mass of explosive to have a concave shape at the ends of the package. The shaped charge effect at the ends of the package gives improved propagation of detonation in an end-to-end loaded charge, even with large separations between cartridges caused by obstructing debris in horizontal holes.</p> |
