PURPOSE:To obtain an echo simulator which is able to output an echo, with a difference in brightness, similar to a real echo. CONSTITUTION:Echo azimuth thetaT is subtracted 1 by present azimuth thetaA of a radar antenna and when the difference is within radarbeam width BW, valid signal S5 is outputted. At the time of outputting S5, azimuth-different signals S3 and S5 are written to addresses 6 and 11 by echo-distance data signal S6, memory timing singal S8 and distance data signal S11 of the distance counter. Writing and reading to and from memories 3 and 7 are done alternatively by S8 and during this, the antenna turns around and reading R is done by S11. Function generator 8 causes analog gate 5 to output a signal equivalent to the beam strength at the time of thetaT-thetaA utilizing distance memory signal S14 for the time equivalent to the radar transmission pulse width. Output signal S22 has the amplitude equivalent to the azimuth difference of an artificial echo and its generation point depends upon the distance data and azimuth. Displaying S22 makes an echo with the brightness and shape similar to the real one appears. |
