PURPOSE: To increase the density of the recording tracks on a magneto-optical memory medium by forming the recording tracks which react with the recording signals of recording information by the modulation of the physical characteristics of a disk surface and forming the non-recording tracks which do not react so much with the recording signals as the recording tracks. CONSTITUTION: The surface of a copy pressed with a metallic master has undulating areas 19 and smooth areas 15. A magnetic material is sputtered onto the surface of the structured material. The material is stacked flatly within the recording parts 15 but is deposited unevenly within the non-recording parts 19. The material which is deposited unevenly within the non-recording parts 19 is hardly affected then the material which is stacked flatly within the recording part 15. In such a manner, the recording tracks and the non-recording tracks are produced. Then, the recording tracks react with the recording signals for the purpose of recording information and the non-recording areas do not react with the recording signals so much as with the recording track signals. As a result, the higher density of the recording tracks is obtd. |
