The present invention relates to a method of synchronising a television receiver with MAC type signals comprising line-synchronisation words of p bits and field-synchronisation words of n bits, the line words being shifted horizontally by a given distance (A) with respect to the field words, comprising the following steps: - correlating each incoming bit sequence with the line words; - once a candidate word is detected, determining a first line word verification window at the location of the candidate, and a second field word search window at the distance (A) from the first window, this second window having a breadth of m bits (m < n); - synchronising the receiver linewise; - correlating each word appearing in the second search window with the field words; - once a candidate field word is detected, positioning a verification window at the line where this candidate word was found, and synchronising the receiver fieldwise. <IMAGE> |
