PURPOSE:To obtain a noncontacting sensor having a wide measurement range, by using a link coupling in the mechanism which converts a linear displacement to be measured to an angular displacement and using an angle sensor to obtain an electric output proportional to the linear displacement from this angular displacement. CONSTITUTION:In a converting part 2, when a detecting part 7 of the second arm 8 is displaced linearly along a groove 9 from an origin O on the (x) axis from a point P(x) to be detected by (x), the first arm 5 supported by a fixed shaft 4 is displaced from the (y) axis by an angle theta1. In an angle sensor 3, when the arm 5 is displaced angularly, a permanent magnet 10 buried in a ring member 5 is displaced angularly by a quantity corresponding to the angular displacement of the arm 5, and an output proportional to the linear displacement (x) is obtained in the output terminal of a magneto-resistance element 11 arranged in the fixed shaft 4. |
