RETRIEVING SYSTEM FOR DOCUMENT IMAGE INFORMATION

PURPOSE:To eliminate the frequent displays with switching and to improve the operability with a retrieving system for document picture information, by retrieving a certain page and its other related pages from the document image information and displaying these pages synchronously with each other. CONSTITUTION:The document information includes the description pages and drawing pages, and a reference table showing the correspondence between the description sentences and reference drawings is produced for each document when the document information is registered to a file device 5. These reference tables are stored to a file device 5. A document name to be retrieved is supplied through a keyboard 3 and a store address for images equivalent to a page is obtained together with the data length with reference to a file control table. Then images are read out of the device 5 and the data is extended by an image processor 7 and stored to a bit map memory 6. The image of a reference drawing is read out of the device 5 when a reference drawing exists after confirmation of the reference table. Then the data is extended by the processor 7 and reduced in a prescribed ratio. This reduced data is synthesized with the image on a memory 6 and displayed on a display 19.
