The apparatus includes keys which are used to enter a desired telephone call destination or a call charge area and the call duration. Call charges of a network operator are calculated with respect to the day of the week and the current time based on an updateable call charge data base. The network operator or the special network code number is displayed. Preferably, the data of the call charge structure are stored in an IC which is placed on a plastic card insertable in the apparatus and replaceable.
