As shown, the Pt leads 4 are connected to contacts 5 on the body 1 which is a bead of metal oxide or a mixture of such oxides. The or each oxide may be of a rare earth metal. A quartz support rod 6 separates the leads and is held in place by pinched-in areas 9, 10 of the quartz tube 2. External leads 8 may also be of Mo. |
