PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inspection device for hatching eggs capable both of inspecting hatching eggs of various days of age and of completing inspections of their activity levels within an appropriate time.SOLUTION: An inspection device takes following steps for a single inspection unit: irradiating each of many hatching eggs with light; receiving each light transmitted through each hatching egg; obtaining biological activity information on a living matter inside a hatching egg from the light received; and inspecting an activity level of each hatching egg based on the biological activity information. The inspection device conducts the activity level inspections for a plurality of inspection units and allows changeable inspection time condition of hatching eggs for each inspection unit. Since the inspection time condition is changeable, the activity level inspection enables, for example, inspection accuracy improvement by prolonging the inspection time or inspection cost reduction by shortening the inspection time. |
