Provided is a method for continuously and efficiently producing cellulose ether with reduced undissolved components. More specifically, provided is a method for continuously producing cellulose ether, which comprises the following processes: a contact process for obtaining alkali cellulose by bringing pulp into contact with an alkali metal hydroxide solution in the presence of a solvent; a reaction process for carrying out a reaction between the alkali cellulose and an etherealizing agent; a partial condensation process for partially condensing, after the completion of the reaction, gas existing in a reactor used in the reaction above so as to separating the gas in to a liquid component and a gas component and sending some or the whole gas component back to the contact process to reuse some or the whole solvent; and a process for incinerating the liquid component and the gas component when the gas component not sent to the contact process still exists.
